The traditional Maltese figolla is a pastry filled with an almond marzipan filling, coated in either chocolate, frosting or marizpan. Figollas come in different shapes usually the symbolic lamb and hearts! The figolla is traditionally made with white flour and refined sugar however we have substituted those ingredients with more natural alternatives, giving rise to our signature non gluten figolli - made with just 100% pure almonds, no other flours - tasting like the marzipan filling all round!
Our VEGAN Figolla is made using: Almonds, dates, rose water, citrus zest, organic lemon oil, organic orange oil, vanilla & Himalayan salt - coated in a home made frosting made with cacao butter, coconut oil, cacao powder & blue agave syrup - all organic. Our figollas come in three shapes - Lamb, Egg & Heart. Shapes are chosen at random, if you have a preference kindly let us know in the 'special notes' box. Kwarezimal are a traditional lenten sweet, typically made without any refined sugar or dairy - basically how the Maltese used to satisy their sweet tooth during this period of sacrifice.
Kwarezimal are made with rather healthy ingredients, however, we have taken it upon ourselves to come up with an even healthier version of this sweet!
This year we're introducing also a KETO & DIABETIC FRIENDLY version! Our VEGAN Kwarezimal are made using: Almonds, dates, sunflower seeds, organic mesquite powder, maple syrup, rose water, mixed spices, citrus zest, organic lemon oil, organic orange oil, vanilla & Himalayan salt, topped with crushed almonds and maple syrup. Storage: All NVKED Easter items need to be stored in the fridge for consumption within 10 days or until the best before date on the product is reached. For longer storage items can be stored in the freezer for consumption within 4 months. All items except figolli are frozen before delivery and delivered frozen to maintain their proper form.
